Somal Home Improvement Inc. is expanding a residential construction foundation spanning twenty years into defined commercial, public facility, and transit construction scopes under the SGC Construction identity.
The next chapter
Residential construction is the foundation of our business. Across their individual careers, members of our leadership team have contributed to more than 700 completed homes. That experience shaped how we sequence trades, solve field conditions, and take responsibility for the finished product.
Today, Somal Home Improvement Inc. is building its next chapter under the SGC Construction identity. The SGC name points toward our intended Somal General Construction brand and broader work in carefully selected commercial, transit, and public facility packages throughout New York.
What we build
From demolition and foundations to framing, enclosure, tiling, and final restoration, we pursue defined packages that align with our field depth and the qualifications required for each project.
Target construction packages outside the electrical scope include station entrances and rehabilitation work, CBH and substation buildings, and other active public facilities.
Layout, formwork, reinforcement coordination, placement, slabs, walls, curbs, pads, small foundations, concrete repair, masonry, and restoration.
Controlled selective demolition, interior and exterior removals, sawcutting and openings, debris handling, temporary protection, and coordinated restoration.
Complete building delivery from foundations through wood and metal framing, sheathing, roof structure, windows, doors, and enclosure.
EPDM and low slope roofing, roof framing, sheathing, flashing, waterproofing interfaces, facades, and exterior repairs.
Rough and finish carpentry, blocking, drywall, ceilings, doors, hardware, wall and floor tile, access panels, and finish restoration.
Specialty work that requires a license, inspection, laboratory, abatement contractor, or other regulated service is coordinated with properly qualified project partners when required.
Transit & public work
SGC is developing the systems, relationships, and field capacity needed to pursue MTA and public agency subcontracting opportunities responsibly.
Our target work does not include electrical contracting. It includes station entrances and rehabilitation, CBH and substation building framing, concrete formwork and foundation packages, selective demolition, masonry, roofing, waterproofing, tiling, carpentry, and building envelope work.

Our foundation
Our residential team has delivered new home construction from foundations and concrete formwork through structural framing, roofing, masonry, windows, tiling, interior finishes, and final turnover. That complete building perspective helps us coordinate trades, anticipate interfaces, and protect the finished result.
Ground up construction and renovation taught us that craftsmanship is only part of the job. Clear communication, clean worksites, and accountability through completion remain central as SGC grows into larger commercial and infrastructure assignments.
